The Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks avoided creating a morass of the race for the final playoff spot in Major Series Lacrosse Tuesday night, downing the Brampton Excelsiors 11-4 to take firm hold of fourth place for now. The win was KW's fourth of the season, to go along with six losses and one tie. That gives them nine points, four ahead of Oakville and five up on Brampton. Had the Excels won last night, the standings would have seen KW with seven points Brampton with six and Oakville with five.

Aaron Wilson led the way for the Kodiaks with 3 goals and 2 assists, Jay Thorimbert had 2 and 2, and Dhane Smith collected 4 assists. Mike Poulin stopped 38 of the 44 shots Brampton directed at him to earn the win. Four different players scored for Brampton and only Shane Scott--with 1 goal and 1 assist--scored multiple points for the Excels.
