KW Kodiaks to host Peterborough Lakers in Clash Cup in Cobourg, have home games on TV

on display when the Kodiaks and Lakers meet in Cobourg.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks are hosting a 2015 Major Series Lacrosse regular season game in Cobourg as a feature of the first annual Northumberland Nemesis Minor Lacrosse Association's first minor tournament. The game will be against the Peterborough Lakers and will be played Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm at the Cobourg Community Centre.

The CCC drew over 1,000 fans when it played host to a Canadian Lacrosse League game between the Durham Turfdogs and Brampton Inferno in March, 2013. The Kodiaks and Lakers met in a neutral-site game in Kingston in June, 2013.

This will be the first time an MSL game has been played in Cobourg. The game is being billed as the First Annual Clash Cup. The idea is to give lacrosse fans in Northumberland County a chance to see some of the best players in the world competing at the game's highest level.

The Kodiaks will have another first this year as they will also have some games on local television. Rogers has agreed to televise five regular season games.

They'll kick off the schedule with KW's home opener against the defending Mann Cup champion Six Nations Chiefs on May 31.

The other four games will come on consecutive Sundays from July 5 - July 26. The Brampton Excelsiors come to town on the 5th, Six Nations returns on the 12th, the Oakville Rock are at KW on the 19th and the final televised opponent is the Peterborough Lakers on July 26th.
