Oakville scored the first three goals of the game but Brooklin responded with three in the last 4:21 of the first period to tie it up heading to the intermission. Neither team scored for the first half of the second period. Kiel Matisz broke the dry spell and the tie with his second of the game (Michael Teeter also had a pair for Brooklin) at 10:40.
Rob Hellyer connected shorthanded at 15:34 to even things back up at 4-4. Glen Bryan became the second Rock defender to get on the scoresheet (Billy Hostrawser had scored in the first) with what would prove to be the winning goal at 17:43.
With time winding down and the final result very much in doubt, Hellyer got his second of the game with six seconds to play. Jeremy Noble took the faceoff down the floor to add the final goal with just a second to play.
