Kodiaks announce TV deal, open tryout

The Cobourg Kodiaks are certainly keeping busy in their new home. With almost three months still to go before their first Major Series Lacrosse season in Cobourg opens, the team has secured and announced an agreement with CogecoTV to have all nine of their home games broadcast. They're also hosting an open tryout in early April to give MSL free agents a chance to impress the team's coaching staff.

That staff consists of the recently announced head coach Jamie Dubrick, who moved with the team from Kitchener-Waterloo, along with defensive coordinator Derrick Crough, as discussed in a story in the Peterborough Examiner last Thursday. The offensive coordinator and any other coaching additions will be announced in the coming weeks.

Below is the Kodiaks announcement about their teams being on Cogeco:

The Cobourg Kodiaks are very pleased to announce their partnership with CogecoTV. All nine of the Kodiaks home games will be broadcast in Cobourg, Brighton and Belleville in HD on Channel 700 and SD on Channel 10. Away games in Oakville, Whitby and Peterborough will also be broadcast when available.

“It’s amazing to be able to work with CogecoTV,” said Eric Graham, VP of Marketing for the Kodiaks, “this partnership will offer viewers, who might not be able to attend a game, the opportunity to cheer on their Kodiaks from home. And for our fans to be able to see most of our away games is just fantastic.”

“The staff and volunteers of CogecoTV are excited by our new partnership with the Cobourg Kodiaks and the opportunity to provide our viewers with top caliber coverage of a tremendous sport. Local Television is a pillar in the community as it provides an opportunity to not only show the local events and happenings on TV but to get the community involved in the production process as volunteers and Community Producers,” said David Feeley, Senior Manager Programming and Community Relations CogecoTV.
